Does the Music Rule You, Or Do You Rule The Music?
Does the Music own the Floor, or Do you Own The Floor?
Nowadays, it seems that so much art/dance has become so compartmentalized, to the point where its restricted and regulated to a certain “type” of music, when in fact, there were no rules to what style of dance went what music. No matter what style, it was/is an expression , bounded by a collective spirit of rhythm, essence, a heightened awareness and instinct that ultimately defined the music and movement, because it was so in tuned commitment to one’s own truth and vibe . Its not the external that defines what you do on the dance floor, its already within you ready to be unleashed..
Movement is movement, but its Empty without a life force, essence, a motivation, a groove,a life rhythm, an energy or instinct. Once you are armed and rooted in with that innate understanding and commitment within yourself, it doesn’t matter what song is playing , or whether its a certain track for a certain style …it will always be there. That is of course if you choose to channel into it .
It is Your power, it is your freedom, it is that one defining quality that will make you distinct from the rest …it is what some of the greatest artists that have transformed the world, have whether consciously or not have mastered.
Its not ALL about the music…..Or Seeing Music .
Its About You !
Who Are You, What do you do, what motivates you to act, what moves you..what do you wish to be…what do you desire…
This is what makes your story come to life….
because once you do ? the music will be right there to organically sync and fuse with you ….
